Ariel

Adopted!
New Name:
Age: Adult
Sex: Female
Breed: Dogue de Bordeaux
Weight:
Current Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Adoption Date: May 21, 2022
Adopted by: Brent and Jill Simmons
Latest Update:

Brent and Jill Simmons were lounging in the pool yesterday when Brent decided to send Laura an email inquiring about Ariel. Laura got back to them a total of 3 minutes later and asked if they would like to come meet her today. 12 hours later they came to see if their Labradoodle Goofy would get along with Ariel, and it went swimmingly! Ariel will have not only Goofy, but Minnie the Yorkie Poo, Slinky (DRR Sharona) the Dachshund, and Phil (DRR Banana) the Frenchie. Ariel will have her very own pool and sun deck to do mermaid activities on all day long. Her name will stay Ariel and we could not be happier to make her a part of the Simmons’ world!! 🔱 🧜‍♀️ ♥️

About Ariel:
This is the girl we headed off to the auction for. The only Bordeaux in the auction, a breeder that we have rescued many of his dogs before. a breeder that always has the most psychologically damaged Bordeaux’s that are terrified of the world have no social skills, have heart issues and in general are just in bad shape. We learned in this auction that this is his very last Bordeaux that he had, he actually told us that she was his Granddaughters dog 😲 He says she’s very sweet but will not walk on a leash.
First of all every Bordeaux we have gotten from him wouldn’t walk on a leash, secondly never mind that your granddaughter loved her, off she goes to the auction to be sold on the block. SMH
She was born on 1/5/20
She was formerly # 132

Welcome to your new life Ariel.

UPDATE 5/20/2022

Ariel is a beautiful girl, I think you remember her story. She belonged to the mill owners granddaughter so she was a “pet” don’t think that matters to them because it didn’t stop him from pulling her up to the auction block and selling her like a goat.
Ariel comes from the same mill where we have rescued many bears from and most if not all are very shy Bordeaux’s, including Thelma, Cupid, Kisses, Panda Bear, and the mama to our pups KISS, just to name a few.
Ariel is also a very shy girl but she’s come a long way, she recently came to stay with us at the ranch and the big sweet girl showed us how much she loves the pond. She absolutely loves playing with other big dogs and would do so well in a home with a dog that wants to play. She’s a quiet gentle girl that needs patient humans and we are hoping you can help us find that. When people come for a meet and greet as an approved adopter it’s important for us to add that some dogs will not show well, they won’t come running to your open arms with a wagging tail. They are afraid and have come from places that you can’t comprehend as loving pet owners. Please understand that dogs like this require time to show their family love. It’s very hard for them but it doesn’t mean they are incapable.

Let’s find this big girl the right home.

UPDATE 5/16/2022

All I can say is Ariel would like to have a home with a big BFF. She loved playing with Zion and she loves playing with big boy Brennan too. We will be looking to move both of them to the ranch very soon for a change of scenery as we have no applications for either one of them.

UPDATE 5/5/2022

I just want to talk about Ariel a little bit. She’s a very sweet shy girl who has a lot of worry in her mind. She was the mill owners granddaughters dog but was sold anyway. She’s come along way but I think it’s important for anyone adopting a dog like her to understand that she’s not going to be a dog who will wag her tail at you and greet you merrily the first time. She’s the kind of dog who needs patience and the ability to hang with her while she learns to trust you. There’s a great girl in there but you won’t see it when you first meet her she’s just going to take some time.

UPDATE 4/5/2022

Dear Mill Owner.
I’m sorry for your granddaughter to have her dog taken away, but I’m not sorry for Ariel to have you out of her life. By the way Travis had her walking on a leash in 5 minutes, just a little confidence and kindness goes a long way.. 👋👋
