Latest Update:

Oh Arnie, you hit the jackpot. You’re new mom and dad were so happy to meet you. Sweet Arnie boy is such a quiet dog, very shy and never makes any demands.
He was with us for quite some time, emaciated and heartworm positive. He is healthy now and off he goes to live with Michael & Michelle Terwilliger from West Bend, WI. They flew into Dallas to pick up Arnie and will be making the long road trip back to Wisconsin to add Arnold to their family. He will join a family with two dogs and two cats as well as 2 teenage daughters to love him. With an active household he will almost always have someone home with him.
His name shall remain Arnie, he has a new collar, and name tag already, he did briefly look back as he departed but he then was lifted into his car with his new giant bed so we could all see how spoiled he will be.
Happy life sweet boy..

We got a call late yesterday about a bear down in the valley that was a stray and we were asked if we could help with him. Laura had to make a last minute decision without consulting us and just told them yes or he would miss the vehicle that was doing all the transporting. He arrived in Dallas about 2:30 AM and Travis is on his way to pick him up.
We will be naming him Arnold Gesmundo who is a radiology technician in Nevada.
I will share more about him as we know it.
Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Arnold.

UPDATE 9/23/2020
Travis has scrubbed Arnold up, lots and lots of ticks and loads and loads of fleas. He’s had multiple baths and was taken outside to potty. His tail appears to have been broken at some point. He appears to be pretty young and he’s a very low boy who doesn’t even lift his leg to pee but instead he squats. He’s very thin and very weary. Travis gave him a hefty meal and has put him in a back den to sleep and rest.
The struggle is oveArnold.
UPDATE 10/10/2020
The oh so very quiet Arnie, you would never know he was here if you didn’t look for him. Never rude or pushy, always quiet and off by himself. He is a very gentle boy who goes unnoticed. Never does he ask for a single thing, he loves his food and never complains about ear medicine, he eats his doxycycline to start his heartworm treatment because naturally having lived on the streets in the valley leaves them sick with heartworms.
If you’re looking to adopt a first time bear, Arnie should be the dog you consider, a gentle sweet soul who appreciates all he gets and demands nothing.
