Latest Update:

It’s finally time for Aviator to fly off to his new home! He will be making a safe landing in Allen, TX to go live with Ricky and Brandi Strickland. They have been waiting patiently as this handsome boy got fixed and was given his heart worm treatment, and he even packed on a few more pounds. After being the first dog in Dog Ranch Rescue history to be flown in on his own private plane, he is leaving the rescue to start his new life. The Stricklands are debating on changing his name or keeping it Aviator. They were thinking maybe “Arson” since his new dad is a firefighter. But they promised to update us of his final name on the Happy Tails page!

Have a beautiful and happy life, Aviator!

About Aviator:
We had a rescue that came in yesterday in a way we have never had before with Dog Ranch Rescue.
We were asked to help with this boy from Leslie Hennings who works so very hard to help get dogs out of the valley. Getting him a ride is something she has worked on since August 11th and yesterday she did just that by getting him not only a ride but a flight on a small plane.
As you can see he is in very rough shape, but we know today is the first day of his new life, medical care, love and nutrition begins now and there is no looking back for him, he is one of the few lucky ones to get off the streets in the valley.
Thank you to Wayne Wickline for flying this boy to us, and thank you to Leslie for the tireless work she does on a continual basis to rescue dogs from the valley.

Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Aviator. 💖

UPDATE 9/29/2022

Aviator came to us starving and in terrible shape. Fast forward to now, he won’t eat unless you add a little something something to his kibble. 😂

UPDATE 9/8/2022

Aviator can now eat food like a normal dog that knows he will always be fed. No need to inhale your food, no need to hurry, it’s all good and he can comfortably know he will never starve again.

UPDATE 9/4/2022

This best good boy is coming to life with people, and sitting nicely for his snacks. He reminds me of Jean Grey who was just so damn hungry that she would bite your fingers off to get something to eat…

Good job Aviator

UPDATE 9/1/2022

When he first arrived Aviator was very frightened and would try to pull away from people. He is so hungry that we have to feed him slowly to help regain his body weight and his health, feeding him out of your hand will require patience and time as he wants to just grab it. He does little happy dances now, wags his little stub and he knows how to sit nicely like the very good boy he is.

UPDATE 8/30/2022

Aviator is in just terrible condition. The volunteers need to be very careful with trying to feed him anything from their hands. He has been starving and cannot control himself just yet with taking things nicely. I’m sure you can relate to his thoughts on that. Emma said he loves 4 things, food, sleeping, peeing outside and scratches…
He is sleeping and sleeping and sleeping and he needs to sleep some more. Life has been very hard for him…
