Since Bailey arrived at the sanctuary her and Luther have been steadfast friends, Luther is a goofy wild pup and yet quiet Bailey loved him from the start, they would spend all their time together, wrestling and playing and yesterday this happened:
Double the Fun! Luther and Bailey now have a forever home, together!
Vicki and Mike Robinson of Frisco, TX have always had dogs in their home but they lost their sweet dog at 15 years old in April of this year and their house has been too quiet. When they saw Bailey and Luther, they knew they needed to apply right away. Vicki and Mike brought along their daughter, Lindsey and their grand daughter, Emery, to meet these precious pups and it was love at first sight.
Mike is retired and Vicki works from home so they have plenty of time to devote to these two and helping them settle into their routine in their new home. We have a feeling their granddaughter will also be over helping since they live close by.
Vicki has joined the happy tails page and will let us know their new names once they have a chance to know them a little better.
We wish these two the best and we know they will be loved and cherished by their new family.

Absolutely nothing about her that would stand out to anyone, just another average brown dog listed in the very, very large category “Lab Mix” This is the kind of dog that loses their life literally every single day, day after day across America. Why? because there are too many and dogs that don’t stand out get overlooked.
When we did the podcast where we discussed euthanizing a dog like Seuss or Barry that were unpredictable we talked about the crisis triage that is done in rescue every day with where should your energy and effort go? with a. dog that has bitten people? or how about dogs like this dog that die everyday through no fault of their own, no bite history, just a sweet dog who had her owner drive her to the shelter almost a month a go and drop her off because they were “moving”
I started opening emails this morning and immediately this girl leapt out at me, this girl is one of those dogs that I was talking about a dog that gets no chance because she’s not purebred, or she’s not small and fluffy, or because she’s not an interesting color with pretty markings. She’s just a nice dog that doesn’t stand out and that is her plight. Once in the shelter she doesn’t get noticed and why is that? because she’s polite, she doesn’t push, she doesn’t demand, she doesn’t jump up and down and wiggle, and quite honestly when and if I am looking for a dog in that kind of setting, the quiet polite ones is who I always talk to, but that’s not what happens in the vast majority of people looking at shelter dogs, so once again an average brown quiet polite dog would not stand out and therefore she just sits and eventually is destroyed because she’s unwanted.
She triggered me immediately and I sent her info in the group text and everyone agreed she is exactly what we talked about in our podcast topic. We agreed to tag her, ask Mary to go and pick her up because she is in Houston, Ricky will drive down tomorrow and pick her up and bring her back to us.
It’s all over, her plight, her worry, the concern of the shelter staff knowing she’s a good girl and knowing she’s on borrowed time. From this day forward she will never find herself in a dangerous predicament ever again. She is safe and soon she will find a family who doesn’t care that she is an average brown dog.
