She was dumped in a small town with no animal control. A few of the officers from the police department came to her aid and called me up and asked if we could help her. They drove her out to the ranch and left her with us to see if we could find her a home where that wouldn’t ever happen again. We named her Beyonce because she has a big booty and her new mom and dad came to take her home yesterday. Theresa and Carter Thomas from Lubbock, TX made the long drive to come and get this sweet girl. They bought her a nice collar off the rack that had doggy butts on it which suited her perfectly. We told them that she gets sassy at meal time and they said she’ll fit right in cause that’s what her new sister does too.
They aren’t sure what they will name her but hopefully we learn on the happy tails page.
We thank the officers who brought her to us and we thank the village for all of your shares, you truly turned the world around for this sweet girl.
Happy life Beyonce…
This was an unusual story, I got a call from a cop in a small town about an hour from here. She told me they had this dog that was dumped in their town and was dumped at a persons house that she described as “not a good place to be” and the officers wanted to get the dog to a better place. They have no animal control there so they didn’t have any options of taking her there.
I told her we probably can’t take her into the rescue but if they can get her to us we can at least get her to our local shelter that has very good results with placement. She said they would be very happy for her to have that opportunity. Yesterday this officer loaded her in his patrol car and drove her to the Ranch.
Here’s what we learned about her when she arrived. She is a Beagle mix, I would guess about 4 or 5 years old. She belonged to someone because she’s fat and has a big behind on her. She had fleas and needed a flea bath and to have her toenails cut. She has a very slight limp on one of her back legs, old injury? I just don’t know. For someone to dump a dog like this just pisses me off, she’s used to being fed, she may have not been loved but she has no idea why she’s been tossed by the wayside. Sometimes I lose hope in humanity but I have to remind myself of the many people who will help, as opposed to the piece of crap that dumped.
Laura informed us that our local shelter in Collin County is at capacity so no matter that our rescue is completely full too, this girl will stay with us. She was mainstreamed with other dogs at the Ranch very quickly and has a very calm very even temperament and took it all in stride.
She won’t be easy to place, she falls into that category of “nothing special” these kinds of dogs just don’t get hundreds of applications coming in like Dachshund puppies too, that’s a shame but it’s a fact. She falls into the “average brown dog” category.
I opted to name her something that people wouldn’t forget because that’s what she needs. I looked at her chubby booty and opted for this.
Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Beyonce
UPDATE 10/11/2021
After having Miss Beyonce in the main crowd I’m happy to report she’s a total Gem. Very sweet and polite with all the other dogs and walks around with such soft energy and halo over her head. I can see why someone who met her would go to great lengths to get her the home she truly deserves.
