Latest Update:
Today was the day for Bree to move along to live with her forever family. We are so grateful when families step up for special needs dogs, it truly is rescue at it’s finest. This little stinker has a very bad heart and it’s not fixable. We don’t know how long she will live, she is just a baby but have no worries, however long she has will be filled with happiness an joy and unconditional love from her family.
Bree has gone to live with Becky and Russ Roby from Winter Garden, Florida and her name shall remain Bree.
We wish you a happy long life Bree, show them they’re wrong and live for 10 years, that would make all of us happy…
We were asked if we would take this little 5 month old pup from a breeder surrender. All we know is she occasionally turns blue from too much excitement. This obviously sounds like a heart issue but nothing has been diagnosed and instead we just took her no questions asked and Ricky has gathered her up and she is on her way to foster mom Mary who is near Texas A & M. She will be seen immediately by Mary’s vet to try and understand what the issue is and hope to get a referral into see a cardiologist as soon as possible.
We are naming her Bree Hardage after a physical therapist in Las Vegas.
Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Bree 🥰
UPDATE 7/14/2020
What we have learned so far about Bree is that she has severe pulmonic stenosis, what we don’t know is if it is repairable, but we also know she was diagnosed with this months ago and nothing was done which can lead to damage to her heart. We need to move quickly on her and the waiting period to see a cardiologist at A & M or Gulf Coast in Houston will take a couple of months.
We are now going to hurry and bring her back down to us and have Dr. Rolfe take a look at her and at least try and get her on some medication to help her heart function while we wait for a spot with the cardiologist at speciality hospitals.
Good grief, this little baby girl is 5 months old and only weighs 10 pounds….we are going to do all we can as quickly as we can but it is worrisome. I will keep you updated on everything we learn as we move through the process.
