Breed: Pembroke Welsh Corgi
Weight: 23 pounds
Adopted by: Makala Waldron
My name is Makala Waldron and I have been an employee here at LSDR/DRR since November 2021. I’ve grown up with Corgis since I was young and have been obsessed with them. When DRR rescued this group of 11, there was no surprise I was over the moon. As I got to know each of them 1 by 1, this sweet girl stood out to me in so many ways and we instantly had a connection. My last female corgi (non DRR) passed away back in 2019 and ever since then, I felt like a part of me has been missing. This sweet and bright girl reminds me of her in every way and has made my heart grow, so I knew I needed to make her mine as soon as possible.
Well today is officially that day! Bushy will be starting her new fabulous life in Princeton, TX with me and her 3 fur siblings- Mochi the Corgi mix, Kiwi the Chihuahua, & Beans the Tabby cat. They couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome her into the pack and show her their daily schedule of meal time, snuggle naps, and tug a war challenges. She will also have plenty of time playing at the ranch to boost her confidence with others and to burn off some extra energy. I want to keep the food name theme going, so Bushy’s new name will be Pumpkin. I’m beyond thankful that Pumpkin came into my life when she did and even more thankful for DRR rescuing her. She’ll definitely be spoiled with tons of treats, love, toys, clothes, and traveling to lots of new places. We look forward to updating everyone on how she settles in/grows on Happy Tails soon. Until then, Pumpkin is off to new adventures!
