Andy and Ana Gleesing have “done a thing”. They have fallen prey to the charms of yet another DRR rescue and Frenchie. Chow Mein came to live with them as a foster just a couple short weeks ago and there she will remain forever. She’s joining DRR alumni Frankie fka Marquee fka #234 and Chili along with non DRR brothers Tre, Jack, Cooper, Tucker and Max.
It wasn’t long after bringing her home that she and Frankie hit it off and Frankie finally had a playmate her own size to bounce and roll around with. She doesn’t hesitate to put the other dogs in their place when needed and is coming along nicely with her hand shyness. And of course, she has a naughty streak, which just adds to that Frenchie charm.
With her dainty frame and petal like ears, Ana wanted to name her something flower related so Maggie, short for Magnolia, will be her new name.
Ana is already on Happy Tails and will post updates on this sweet girl.

UPDATE 6/2/2022

Chow Mein is doing well! She’s gotten a little more comfortable with receiving pets.….sometimes. she sleeps in her crate at night and has no accidents and is quiet as a mouse. We open the door, call her and she goes right in by herself. She still pancakes if you approach her too quickly but that’s usually when we’re walking around the house doing things so we just walk around or step over her and keep moving. No big deal. She’s learning that people aren’t always scary, I think. She’s a naughty girl though and likes to chew but listens really well when you correct her. her face and ears are so stinkin cute!!! Oh, and she’s gained a pound – woohoo!

Chow Mein is a blue girl. She was born on 2/17 and is a pretty shy girl who’s having a hard time with being a den. She’s one of those dogs that doesn’t want to be contained anymore after gaining her freedom. She’s worried about human hands and will pancake when approached, but when you pick her up she likes being held.
