Christmas

Adopted!
New Name:
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female
Breed: Mixed Breed
Weight: 15
Current Location:
Adoption Date:
Adopted by: Erica Allbaugh
Latest Update:

It was love at first sight for Erica Allbaugh when she walked into the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center for work one Monday morning. There was Christmas waiting to have surgery for two broken legs and a fractured pelvis. Erica knew right then and there that she wanted her. When Ricky went to pick her up the next day he told her she’d better get her application in quick if she was serious. She was and she did right away.
Erica and her husband Josh each work 4 days a week… Josh goes in early and Erica goes in a little later and they have a pet walker/sitter that comes late morning to let their current dog JoJo (2 1/2 yr old terrier mix) out so she’s never left alone long. JoJo was also needing a playmate to grow up with.
Erica has stayed in close touch over Christmas’s long recovery period and will be able to take her through the next four weeks and beyond for the physical therapy she’ll continue to need.
Erica and Josh were finally able to pick up Christmas this morning and take her to her new home. It seems Christmas and JoJo have a lot in common and I’m betting they will be great friends.
They’re not sure yet what her new name will be but will let us know.
Have a great life little one … see ya on the Happy Tails page.

About Christmas:

I saw her yesterday with Debbie Nash from Bullmastiff rescue looking for help from anyone that could get her what she needs. This little girl was hit by a car and has both back legs broken and a broken pelvis. She will need surgery just as quickly as possible, unfortunately she was all the way up in Arkansas but have no fear Ricky Barnes swooped into action and picked her up this morning. She will be driven straight to the ER, our surgical team at DVSC has been informed of her arrival, and foster mom Millie is on standby to take care of her while she is recovering.

UPDATE 12/24

Christmas is home from the hospital and beginning her recovery with Millie taking care of her. Millie says she’s a very sweet girl and only weighs about 15 pounds. Christmas is a puppy and it’s a guess that she is 9 months old. I want to thank all of you who donated for her care, it was a very large bill but thankfully we received enough donations to cover her expenses. She is on the path to a new life and we are sure she will be back on her feet again in a few weeks.
