Age: Adult
Sex: Female
Breed: French Bulldog
Weight:
Current Location: Hockley, TX
Adoption Date: May 21, 2022
Adopted by: Dianna Raney
Latest Update:
Dianna Raney has always wanted a French Bulldog. She has been trying to adopt a Frenchie from Dog Ranch Rescue since 2019 and for one reason or another it just didn’t work out. Well, she hit the jackpot with our Cinderella! Dianna drove over from Hockley, TX today, with her partner Mark, to meet this sweet girl and take her home. Dianna has many years of fostering under her belt and has plenty of experience with scared shut down dogs. Cinderella has made a lot of progress but still has a ways to go and with Dianna retired and having plenty of time to work with her makes this a perfect fit. As part of her family she’ll also two older Border Collies to help teach her the ropes. Dianna and Mark love to go camping and everyone goes…… they don’t have any trips planned until October so it gives Cinderella lots of time to get settled in and ready to travel. Her new name will be Gabrellia… Gaby for short since she has recently found her voice.
Love ya little girl.. can’t wait to watch you blossoming (and camping!) on the Happy Tails page!

UPDATE 5/4/2022

Let’s take a peek in at Cinderella at Millie’s home and get an update on how she’s doing:

Cinderella is coming out of her shell more every day! It’s like a light turned on for her. She runs in and out with no problem now. Eats everything … matter of fact she’ll do a little jump and bark to tell me she’s waiting to eat. She runs back and forth through the kitchen and hoards bones. She’ll still retreat to her bed area if I move too fast or try to take a picture. She’s even started doing zoomies in the yard (see video .. after rain yesterday…disregard my voice please) I was doing Margaux’s eye drops the other day and just happened to turn around and she was laying close .. very relaxed. First time ever! Oh and did I mention I caught her trying to pull the towel I had down by the back door into her bed. This girl is going to be fun and full of mischief!

UPDATE 4/26/2022

Cinderella on her way for her spay. She continues to make baby steps at Millie’s with being less and less afraid. Millie said she picked up a toy the other day and she moves easily to go outside the door but she still freezes outside in the yard and can’t muster up the courage to come back inside. One step at a time for this little girl.

UPDATE 4/6/2022

We kept Cinderella in the hospital for a couple of days, with her overheating from stress she aspirated a little bit and began with a little pneumonia. She’ very stable now but needs a very quiet foster home. Clearly she is a very sensitive girl and coming out of her life in a cage at a puppy mill proved to be overwhelming for her. Foster mom Beth has come to her rescue to take her home..

“The fairy godmother (me) arrived at the ball to whisk Cinderella home. She told me that she not NOT leave her glass slipper behind because, much to her chagrin, there was NOT a prince there. I have assured her that there are no wicked step sisters nor step mother at my home. No more sweeping cinders from the fireplace (nor any other type of work) for her. Cinderella’s only job now is to rest and get well.”

UPDATE 4/3/2022

Cinderella was stressed when she came and spent only 5 or 10 minutes outside before all dogs going inside for their baths and collars. She just continued to stress and Makala was worried about her. Took her temp and it was 103 she jumped in the car with her and drove her to the ER. Once she arrived her temp was 107 and she was rushed back, sedated, put into oxygen and on fluids to bring the temp down and calm her down. People many times do not know what they are looking at with flat faced dogs like a Frenchie or even a Bordeaux but this can go south very quickly and requires fast action.
Thankfully it was caught very early and she’s being taken care of medically now.
