Latest Update:
Hello, this is Emma . I’ve worked at LSDR since October of last year, and started working at the Sanctuary in January, which is where I now spend the majority of my time. When I heard we were getting standard poodle puppies, I didn’t think much of it (besides the fact that they would adopted very quickly), but after meeting all four of them, I couldn’t stop thinking about the Apricot girl, Fire. Her personality, outgoing disposition and lack of any fear in a new environment was stuck in my brain. The next morning, I texted Laura and asked if I could have her. I felt like I would regret it if I didn’t at least try. She has now been home for a couple days and will be accompanying me to work at the Sanctuary until she is old enough to go to the Ranch. Her new name is Flora, and she has a German Shepherd, a Lab mix, and a Bichon at home to keep her busy. I can tell this girl is going to be an amazing dog, and she will be put in various dog sports and classes to see what she likes to do. Fake Mama Liz has already claimed grooming rights to her, and I have an Amazon cart full of bows and bandannas ready to ship, as Wes has stated that she must be wearing two bows at all times. When I started working here I promised myself that no matter what I would NOT take another dog home… anyways, Flora and I will see y’all on Happy Tails!
Yesterday we were contacted by the emergency hospital about a litter of Standard Poodle puppies that a breeder wanted to give to us. I reached out to Ricky and Terrie, and they were in contact with the breeder within a few minutes and on their way to do a little Mother’s Day rescue. We welcomed three females and one male born on 2/18/2022.
