Latest Update:

This mama has been picked up by the shelter in San Antonio and was in need of rescue. She comes with a gaggle of pups 11 in total. We are told that she came into the shelter on August 15th and her babies were only a couple of days old.
Mama and babies have been safely taken to Jenn at maternity manor. We have 8 baby girls and 3 baby boys.
Mama will be named after a restaurant owner named Debbie Dohmlo in Pittsburgh PA called Big Shot Bobs
Debbie’s nickname is Giggles and that is what we will call this mama. Jenn said that Giggles is just as sweet as can be, loves to give kisses and is a great mama to her 11 babies.
Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Giggles.
6. She likes to wrestle but big teenager Rudy is sometimes a bit too much and needs to calm down. Last night my ice tea went flying when they were running around the couch.
UPDATE 12/6/2020
We know that Giggles has to be waiting for maybe a few more months before she can recover from ehrlichia and get her platelets back up. I thought about a foster for her and a light bulb went off in my head. LeeAnn is a volunteer for us and has fostered a couple of times, she adopted Rudy from Dog Ranch Rescue. Rudy comes to the Ranch for daycare and I have seen him and Giggles love to run and wrestle. We asked her if she was up for a foster and she said okay so here they are, and the wrestling has already begun.
UPDATE 12/4/2020
So we ran a blood panel on Giggles again after her finishing another month of Doxycycline, her platelets have improved, each time they have come up some but they aren’t where they need to be. It’s pretty clear now that she does have Ehrlichia which is a tick born illness and that isn’t a surprise coming from being a stray down south. She will most likely need a few months to recover, Ehrlichia takes a while to heal from. Giggles shows no signs of illness, but we cannot spay her, it’s way too dangerous to spay a dog with Ehrlichia and low platelets. We are going to look for a foster for her, she needs to be in a home during this period of time. The Ranch is very tiring for a dog to stay at for months and months. Sadly she doesn’t have applications but hopefully that will change some time in the future. She is a great dog, somebody is missing out, she is sweet, housebroken, loves other dogs, loves to play and would be a wonderful dog for somebody. She will recover from this but it will take time..
