Latest Update:
We had a double adoption yesterday! Our little chihuahua pup, Heather, and terrier mix Omar have headed off with her new family and will call Allen, TX home. Cheryl McLaughlin and Nelson Torres have always had a dog in their home but for the past two years, they have been without and have really missed having a companion.
Our volunteers always mentioned that Heather and Omar were best buds at the sanctuary and played very well together and entertained each other, so Cheryl and Nelson made the decision to also add sweet Omar to their pack!
They have been following the page for awhile and the moment they saw Heather and her smile, they knew she was the one. Knowing how close Omar and Heather were helped them make the decision to add them both and their house will be full of energy, fun and laughter.
Heathers new name will be Rosie and Omar will stay Omar. Cheryl has joined the happy tails page so we can catch up with these two pups in their new home which is a long way from living on the streets in the Valley. We wish them all the best!
After we had tagged the dogs we had chosen, the shelter said we have a little Shih Tzu that we would like to ask if you can help with also. We had no picture and we said sure, send her along. This is her . We said, well, she is not a Shih Tzu, but she is very cute..
We are naming her Heather Smith she is a rad tech that has been working non stop since covid started jumping in and doing above and beyond her duties. She was diagnosed with covid and 9 days later was admitted in hospital with double pneumonia. She has just recovered and was quarantined from her husband and 5 year old son for 20 days. The whole situation was frightening and she was all alone in hospital with no family. She is back at work and she is one of the kindest and professional person I know.
