Breed: French Bulldog
Adopted by: Andrea Castilla-Sierra
I shall close the night with an adoption today. As I’ve stated before we have had some very tough dogs to place here lately and one by one their miraculous new owners have to come to light. Tonight we share the adoption of Jaxson a dog with such terrible allergies that he was surrendered by his family. We worked tirelessly to get him healthy again, the girls at the sanctuary, Jenn, Emma and Travis all took him in and never gave up. We got him the healthiest he has probably ever been and even removed an eye that offered him nothing but pain and suffering.
The village shared and shared and today I share with you the fruit of all of our labor written by Terrie Barnes who has stepped into the role of adoption coordinator working hand in hand with Laura and Emma to communicate with adopters and make sure we are all on the same page when it comes to the adoption of one of our rescues.
Jaxson has left DRR into the arms of a loving home. Andrea Castilla-Sierra of Victoria, TX contacted us because she wanted to rescue a dog that really needed a family. Jaxson is that dog. When interviewing her, everything about Jaxson’s allergies/shots needed/type of food/bathing regiment/eye drops were laid out and she was undeterred. Andrea is a Nurse Practitioner and her husband is a doctor, so they weren’t afraid to take care of the medical needs of Jaxson. They have a dog named Jaxson that needed to be introduced and Andrea is working steadfastly to practice everything Emma and Travis told her to make them blend nicely.
His new fur-family includes Bella, a 5 y/o pirate Frenchie with allergy issues and Jaxson (now called Jaxsie), a 3 year old boy.
Happy Life Jaxson, we hope to see you on the Happy Tails page very soon.
Interesting Fact: 2 dogs adopted during COVID were named after her husband and his nurse as they were on the front lines!
We were asked to take this very sweet man from a very sad family that just cannot try and help him anymore. He is 8 years old they have had him his whole life and as you can see his skin is a mess, they have a very busy life with many small children and have tried to the best of their ability financially to solve it and they cannot, and felt he deserved much more than they could give him. His condition is severe and taking care of a dog like him is no easy feat, we will tackle him with all of our resources thanks to a very giving village, and seek out a home that is able and willing to stay on top of it. The girls said he is absolutely as cute as can be and a lovely boy who loves everyone and everything.
- Jaxson is the sweetest senior you will ever meet. He is such a doll. He went to stay with Jenn after his eye surgery so that he could have a calm environment to recover. He was an only dog and was very loved for the first 8 years of his life, so he does need a bit of guidance when it comes to sharing toys, but he is easily correctable and aims to please. Anyone looking for a senior needs to snatch him up, he is a gem.
- UPDATE 7/5/23– Now in foster at Trav’s. Jaxson is the sweetest ever. He even plays with the other dogs. He loves to sit with you on the couch and will sleep in his own bed all night long. He is doing great in a household with 6 other dogs after being an only dog for the first nine years of his life. Just absolutely love this boy.
