Lambie

Adopted!
New Name: Ruby
Age: Adult
Sex: Female
Breed: French Bulldog
Weight:
Current Location: Round Rock, TX
Adoption Date: August 20, 2022
Adopted by: Libby and Len Karabin
Latest Update:
Libby and Len Karabin used to have 5 dogs… 4 frenchies and a Great Dane (Stanley). They lost their frenchy Norman December 2020 to a brain tumor,  lost Olive in April this year and just recently lost Oliver to a stroke. They had that empty feeling a lot of us know all too well. Then they saw Lambie. They knew they wanted her instantly. They weren’t afraid of possible medical issues because they had dealt with most of them. They were willing to wait as long and it took. Len works from home which will help with the transition. Plus they came highly recommended by a previous DRR adopter. So that was that.. adoption pending. But then little Frankie hit the page and tugged at their heart. Their current French Bulldog, Maggie had also had a rectum prolapse and they knew what it entailed and were willing to take it on. Lambie and Frankie just happened to be fostered together and just absolutely adored each other and were the best of friends. Of course pictures of Lambie and Frankie together just stirred the pot you might say. The rest is history.
Today Libby and Len drove up from Round Rock, TX to adopt both Lambie and Frankie. Lambie’s new name will be “Ruby” and Frankie will be “ Fritz”. I have a feeling we will be seeing lots of updates on these two! Can’t wait!!
About Lambie:
Two Frenchies in McKinney were found as strays on the street. One of them in pretty horrible condition. The woman who found them brought us the girl that needs medical help, the other one remains with her while both of them have been reported to animal control.
I don’t know anything about them other than that. We will get this girl some medical help right away. We shall see if someone steps up.

In the meantime we shall call this girl Lambie.

UPDATE 7/17/2022

This girl Lambie just has the saddest face, nobody has stepped up to claim her which isn’t a big surprise. She’s in terrible shape and it’s clear that she hasn’t been loved in a long time.
Millie is sending us an update on this sweet girl.

Miss Lambie is settling in and we’re learning about each other. Dr Spenser at Hooves and Paws Pet Hospital worked her in Wednesday so we could get her out of pain and comfortable from her horrible skin condition and those ears. This sweet girl was just exhausted and has been finally been able to sleep and get the rest she needs to start to heal. She has a long way to go but is super sweet. She sleeps quietly in her crate and waits for me to take her out to go potty. She has a good appetite and takes her medicine like a champ …. well most of it anyway. Lambie will get a medicated bath every 3 days to help with her skin condition. Her itching seems to be letting up a little. No mange which is the good thing so it’s either food or environmental related. I really think she’s looking better already.

UPDATE 7/14/2022

Lambie is infected from head to toe, no surprise there. We sent her off to stay with foster mom Millie as we know all of our medical dogs are in the best hands with her. This girl has a long way to go to get healthy but we are up for the challenge.
