Latest Update:

Layla was adopted by Joanna and Sean Donahue from Lubbock, TX. Her new name will be Sunny Dae. She will be an only dog and will be spoiled rotten. She had toys and a new bed waiting for her in the car for the ride home. Her new parents were so excited and promise to update us on this sweet girl via Happy Tails.

About Layla:
Labrador Retrievers have fallen from demand in the commercial breeding industry and believe me that’s a good thing. It goes to show you how the consumer public controls this industry. Why have Labs fallen from demand?
Because the public doesn’t want Labradoodles anymore, those are out of style..
The Golden Retriever is now the breed to abuse and commands very high prices at the auction, the public demand Golden doodles now, so guess what…too bad for Goldens’ you get to suffer…
If only the public would stop buying these puppies then they would all turn out like the Lab’s. no profit means they stop doing it…It’s really that simple.
This Lab sold for 200.00 for that reason, unwanted in the retail world of the merchandise of puppies.
This girl was born on 11/24/19
Formerly # 78

Welcome to freedom Layla ❤️

UPDATE 8/5/2021

What a delightful girl she is. Layala was rescued at the last auction, advertised as one or two years old, she’s not, she’s 7 years old. Advertised as ready to make Lab puppies for you to make a buck off of, wha they don’t advertise is she was heart worm positive and in need of getting help to rid her heart of these parasites.
Buyer beware at dog auctions, they lie, and they will always lie. Layla hit the jackpot that fateful day, the dog lottery, she Ould just have easily been purchased by a mother mill owner which is where the statistical odds land for the vast majority of dogs sold at auction.

She didn’t….she came with us and now her vetting is almost finished and she has a family to call her own who will love her and adore her, she will be leaving very soon…

UPDATE 6/24/2021

Layla tested positive yesterday for heartworm unfortunately and will now undergo the treatment to kill them. They also lied multiple times about her age in the auction, they stated she was two years old and once she came to us and all of her paperwork came with her it turns out she’s actually 7 years old and not two.
