Latest Update:

Miss Lola has come a long way and today she has finally found her loving & furever home. Sharon Smircich drove down here all the way up from Kirksville, MO to pick up this beautiful girl. Sharon recently lost her dog that was 7. As soon as she saw Lola’s picture and realized she was also 7, she knew it was meant to be! Sharon is also retired, so keeping Lola company and giving her snuggles that she desires all day won’t be an issue. She will also have a cat sibling named Mazy to play with! She decided to keep the name Lola since she already knows her name well and promises to give us an update on Happy Tails once she settles into her new home. Drive safe back home and have a happy life Lola!

About Lola:
This is a very delicate situation, and I will ask everyone to be kind and only add a comment if it remains positive. This dog belongs to a person that my family knows, she has a 12 year old non verbal autistic son and things have gone poorly so she reached out to ask us for help. This is Lola, she’s 7 years old and is some kind of a Beagle mix, she’s spayed and update on all of her vaccines but the situation with the son has been escalating and escalating. He will grab her face and scream at her and it has been getting worse the last few months. One again the child is non verbal so there is no way to get him to stop doing this. Lola has begun to growl and snap at him and this is going to end badly.
We told her we would take her and find her a new home which she was so grateful for, Lola loves women but is a little nervous around men, we are sure she will overcome that but she’s been dealing with a trauma. Lola is also very good with cats so that’s a plus for her as well. She has been a very good citizen at the ranch, no issues with other dogs, she has been standing out at the pond and just verbally wailing over and over again which is heartbreaking but she’s lost her home and it is scary for her because she doesn’t have any idea what is going on.
She will be staying with us until we find a new home for her and I will be asking for you to share her in order for us to find the perfect place. It’s probably best to avoid children with her because she’s had a negative experience and we don’t want to push that issue.
