Millie facilitated the adoption of little Lucille yesterday:
“Sometimes a dog comes into our life at exactly the right time..that is how it happened with Lucille. Jennifer Hill lost her husband last year and her Yorkie in February. She and her Yorkiepoo Chloe just moved to Oklahoma to be closer to family and start a new life. That’s when she saw Lucille’s picture/story and of course those eyes! One look in those eyes and Jennifer knew Lucille needed her and she and Chloe needed Lucille so they could all heal and start their new life. You’re going to be loved beyond measure little one.
See you on the Happy Tails page”
This is the 6 year old Yorkie that was given away by the mill owner, we were supposed to get an 8 year old girl too but sadly they changed their mind and she wasn’t released.
This girl is supposedly pregnant with what they tell us one pup and she needs a c-section so they don’t want her because the value isn’t there to pay for a c-section and only be able to profit from one pup. That’s how it works for these people. You don’t make us enough money so we don’t want you.
Well, we want her and now we have her.
She will be named after a member of the Bible Baptist Tabernacle
She is their oldest member and her name is Lucille Brockman, (who is 101 years old),sadly she has contracted COVID-19
and she passed away September 06, 2020. We send our thoughts and prayers to her loved ones.
Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Lucille Brockman
UPDATE 10/30/2020
Let’s get an update from foster mom Jenn on little Lucille Brockman.
First and foremost she was examined and she is not pregnant and will be scheduled for a spay as soon as possible. So we are very happy for this little girl.
Jenn:
Lucille is very shy but she seems to be enjoying having a warm place to sleep. She sleeps a lot right now. Of course being a tiny 5 pound girl she chooses the largest bed in the room. It took a couple of days before she would eat but now she is eating very well. She goes out to potty in the rain but its been cold so she wants right back inside and will go to the door to indicate that its time to let her back in. She doesnt pancake when I pick her up but she doesnt ask to be picked up either. She is following me around and seems to want to be where me and the other dogs are. Right now she is just a quiet girl who is taking in all the changes. I have seen a tail wag a few times. When we are outside I put her inside my coat and she stops shivering and snuggles. I cant wait to see how she blossoms in the coming days/weeks. She will be spayed soon and then she will be ready for adoption. Isn’t she adorable?!
UPDATE 11/5/2020
We moved Lucille to stay with foster mom Millie when we learned that she has no pups. No need for her to stay at maternity manor so off she went to stay with Millie.
She has sent us a little update on who this little girl is.
Quick update on Lucille..This girl is just a little sweetheart (not quite 6 lbs 6 1/2 yrs old) she loves to be held and will snuggle down in your arms.. she’s sleeping through the night in her crate and goes right out and does her business as soon as she gets up. She’s not to sure about coming in the back door on her own yet so I need to pick her up to bring her in. She’ll stop for me but will flatten a little when I reach down. At dinner time she’s all over the kitchen checking out what I’m doing and looking for her food. She’s eating well and spends a lot of time curled up sleeping on one of the many dogs beds close by. She has a couple weeks of ear drops/medicine but has no problem with me treating her ears. Speaking of ears… I mean really are they not the cutest ears you’ve ever seen .. that and her eyes that go straight to your heart. Someone will be very lucky to get this girl.
