Breed: Lhasa Apso
Current Location: Galveston TX
Adoption Date: July 23, 2018
Adopted by: Joan Rust
Julie rescued Misty two years ago on her own. Her family that had her since she was a small pup had opted to euthanize her because she had diabetes. Julie wasn’t going to stand for that and took Misty in and with her own funds got her regulated with her insulin and has had her ever since.
Joan Rust from Galveston Texas who is Kellie High’s mom, Kellie adopted Cilantro and Pippin (Pinkie’s BFF) and Joan had owned diabetic dogs in the past and wasn’t the least bit worried about taking care of Misty for the rest of her days. It was a tearful adoption as Julie cried to let her go but this is what its all about, you can’t keep them all and continue to rescue more and Joan will provide Misty with a permanent family all her own forever.
We wish them all a very happy, long , healthy life
This sweet older girl traveled with Julie from Missouri to the sanctuary here in Texas. She was surrendered by her family who had had her since she was 8 weeks old, because she is diabetic and partially blind. Julie offered to take her when the family made an appointment to have her euthanized. Julie has since been looking for her perfect family.
Misty is a diabetic and requires insulin injections twice daily and will need a family who is willing to take care of her needs.
She is spayed, gets along with everyone – especially cats, loves affection and to be held on her back for belly rubs. She has a very sweet, playful personality. She would make a wonderful companion, walks well on leash, and absolutely LOVES car rides.
Welcome, Misty! We know the perfect family is out there for you.
