Latest Update:
Bill Hammock and Jana Jarrett from Bowie, TX have wanted to add another Mastiff to their family for quite a while and were waiting for the right dog. Penelope their Mastiff wants a friend and they wanted to make sure she had a good match. They drove to the Ranch this morning for a meet and greet with our Mooch. He and Penelope seemed like long-time friends who were immediately comfortable and familiar with one another.
Mooch is such a gentle, sweet boy who just wants to be near his human. Bill works from home and they have a very quiet, calm household that will make Mooch very happy.
Mooch shall remain Mooch, and he and Penelope will be forever the best of friends. Your days of being frightened are over and you finally have a family that will love you very much.
Happy life, big Moochie Mooch!
This shy boy was on a next door site for free, and we were contacted by Robin who lives nearby. She knew he was in danger so she met him and seeing the dangerous situation he was in, she contacted us. His owners said they didn’t want him anymore and that he basically lived in a crate because they work long hours and don’t have time for him. He’s a big, shy boy, I would guess around 125 pounds. He’s four years old and not neutered.
Mary Jones and Cassandra handled the transport to get him to the Ranch. He arrived with fleas and very badly infected ears, but his body is in good condition, and he looks like he’s spent very little time outside.
We loaded him up in the tub and scrubbed him clean, killed his fleas, flushed his ears clean and put medicine in there and he was just a complete gentleman in the tub. He walked down the ramp and walked right into the dryer cage, he’s very shy and quiet and a crate makes him feel safe.
Travis took him out to meet Daryl, Fred, Hercules and Sweet Baby and he’s a very good boy. Daryl being the wild bronco that he is tried to play with him but he screamed and ran away trembling. He obviously will need some help with socialization and some time learning that the world doesn’t have to be so scary.
Welcome to the Dog Ranch Rescue, Mooch!
UPDATE:
The Mooch, such a scared boy, he just wants a lap to sit in.
Who ever adopts the mooch needs to understand how timid he is and will need to be patient with him, he’s a very loving dog but the world scares him…This is what happens when you don’t properly socialize your dogs when they are young. Mooch was not given the opportunity to learn how to not be afraid.
