Latest Update:
This is a pretty special adoption, I’ve said it a hundred times, adopting the dogs that are so very shut down are rescue at it’s finest and we are always so grateful when these adopters for this kind of dog raise their hand.
Laura has been carefully looking for the perfect, quiet home for our sweet Panda Bear, and her hard work has finally paid off. Megan Sarver of Richardson, TX is a volunteer with the Rescue and said Panda Bear touched her heart when she saw how shy and anxious she was. After spending time with her at the Sanctuary she knew she was the person to give her the patience and love needed to help Panda Bear feel safe and happy. Megan knows it will take time and she plans to work with Panda to help her adjust. Maggie will be her new name, Mags for short. We can all see her on the Happy Tails page as soon as she’s settled in.
This big girl is one of the Bordeaux’s who was very nervous in the auction, so we are anticipating that she will be shy, but only time will tell.
She was born on 12/15/17.
Welcome to dog Ranch Rescue Panda Bear
UPDATE 7/3/2021
I simply just don’t understand it and it makes me sad, but this girl Panda Bear has no applications. Yes, she came to us very shy and shut down, but she is making great strides and we need someone to take a chance on her. She deserves that and we know you’re out there but we need help finding you.
UPDATE 6/29/2021
Panda Bear the very shy Bordeaux coming out of her shell and wanting to play with the other dogs.
She’s shy but sweet. She needs lots of patience and support but she’s a good girl.
UPDATE 6/25/2021
When we rescued all of these Bordeaux’s at the auction, Polar Bear, Grizzly Bear, Panda Bear, Sloth Bear and Sun Bear, we knew it would be a huge undertaking, and it was. Several of them very shut down and just terrified of the outside world. It’s very difficult to encourage a 100 pound Mastiff to get up and walk on a leash when they have absolutely no experience with doing that. Polar Bear, Grizzly Bear, and Sloth Bear have moved on to their families. Sun Bear has been ill and is recovering at Cassandra’s house.
That leaves Panda Bear who was so shut down she would not move on a leash, I worked with her at the ranch and made great strides and then with the business of the Ranch increasing we had to move the bears to the sanctuary.
We worry so much about these damaged dogs and finding them homes who are willing to accept and encourage dogs like Panda Bear to keep coming out of her shell and let her be the best she can be.
She’s come a long way and is a such a lovely girl. We have no applications for her and that’s a shame so I’m hoping that someone will give this big, scared sweet girl a chance.
UPDATE 5/26/2021
Panda Bear is doing pretty well. I can now move her about on a leash which might not seem like a big deal, but I assure you when a dog that weighs 100 plus pounds hits the floor and doesn’t move, you are always grateful for when they finally will.
