Latest Update:
Peanut got her forever home today! She is going to live in Houston, TX with Norma Jones who previously had a Frenchie with IBS and a rectal prolapse like our little Peanut.
She contacted us right away when Peanut came in and has been patiently waiting for her. Norma retired earlier this year and now spends her free time as a foster mom for several rescues in the Houston area. Norma will foster Peanut for us through the remaining portion of her medical needs and then will take over as her adoptive mom once her IBS has been stabilized.
Peanut will have a Yorkie, a Frenchie, a Boston and a Pug to play with.
You couldn’t have asked for a more perfect mama, Peanut, and we wish you all the best!
About Peanut:We were contacted by a fellow rescue who picked this little girl out of a shelter at just 10 pounds and completely emaciated. They have taken her to three different vets and had some biopsies done and it seems that they determined that she has IBS. She now weighs 22 pounds and is pretty overweight, but they have not been able to solve the problem with diarrhea continuing to be a problem and it seems unsolvable.
They asked if we would take her into Dog Ranch Rescue and see if our specialists can get to the bottom of her issues. She’s just as sweet as can be and gets along well with everyone. All of her medical history has already been sent off to Dr. D and she will be discussing with our specialists this afternoon on where we will start with her to get this under control. I am not a fan of prescription diets and Dr. D and Dr. Rolfe know that, I’m a raw food proponent but I will discuss if either a home cooked or a raw prepared diet will be best for her in conjunction with any and all medicine prescribed.
Thank you to Deana Davenport who adopted Ivory and her baby Arnie from us in the past for transporting her up to us today. She is driving her towards us no and she will be getting in to see Dr. D just as soon as we can.
