Today was a big day for Ms. Peppermint Pattie. So, lets start at the beginning… From the very first day that her story was posted on the LSDR page, she had a family. They saw her story and were completely in love from the very first second they saw her. Not knowing if she would regain her sight, they were all in. It has been a long journey for this little girl, and she was finally ready. She flew off to go live the pirate life in Florida with her two DRR alum brothers, Blackbeard and Bluebeard, and her new sista Peanut. She will forever be called Annaberg, or Anna B for short, after a spot on the island where her forever family’s hearts lie, St. John. We will miss this very special girl deeply here at the Eggers-Peck homestead, but blissfully, her forever family is a part of our extended family, so she will remain a part of our lives. I expect a ton of pics on the Happy Tails page, so stay tuned. Happy life sweet girl. You will be in my heart always.

 

About Peppermint Pattie:

She came from one of the worst mills in the country. This very tiny girl is only 1.5 years old, and they provided us with no other information on her. Her skin is terribly infected and covered in scabs.

During intake day, we saved her for last because she climbed into the towel cabinet looking for a safe place while we washed the other rescues.  She’s absolutely tiny, even smaller than Mooie was, and I would guess she’s about 14 pounds. She will see Dr. D so we will no more about her soon.
