I don’t have to tell you just how special Bordeaux pups are to me and my family. It’s rare that we ever have a Bordeaux pup, it’s even more rare to be able to rescue one out of a mill. If we hadn’t this boy would grow up as a stud dog for years and years…
But…
He didn’t…he came home with the help of our anonymous bidder and had Mr. Ricky Barnes escorting him from the auction house to his new fairy tail life instead..
Laura knows just how special bear pups are and she tried so hard to find the family that made her warm and fuzzy that lived her locally. Instead this family applied, they are the Alonzo family from Sparta, New Jersey. Laura loved them instantly and knew that Peter wouldn’t be adopted locally instead he would live all the way on the East coast.
They lost their Dogue de Bordeaux a month ago and Wes said they were all still visibly grieving that loss, they know nothing fixes a broken heart like a big old floppy bear pup. Jennifer said she was crying over her bear that had died and saw Peter’s picture on our Facebook page and she told her husband “That’s my dog” they sent in their application and the rest is history.
The family flew in from New Jersey and will take their time driving back kissing this adorable sweet boy all the way. His name shall remain Peter Cottontail as Jennifer said ” like duh how do you improve on that name”
Oh my it just makes me teary to know just how this family feels, it’s just so damn emotional, I’m not sure if it’s because this breed doesn’t live long enough or what, but there is a kinship with us bear lovers and knowing just how damn special it is to be able to love one while they are still small, because in the blink, literally the blink of an eye he will weigh over 100 pounds. I know you all understand this as you all watched Bubb’s grow in front of your eyes.
We are so very, very happy to have rescued this baby boy and thrilled to see him land in the arms of a family who will treasure every second of it.
Happy Life, and Happy Easter Peter Cottontail!!!

Well, he was the one dog we were going after, we thought about only getting just him but then we thought well we have a little room for a handful more…Best laid plans…

He was born on 11/7/20 so he is an aged out pup, remember the public likes to buy their pups at 8 to 12 weeks not nearly 5 months old so they don’t sell very well anymore and become aged out pups.
He’s not aged out for us, and now he is safe..

Welcome to your new life Peter Cottontail
