What is there to say?
The pictures tell her story, not a happy story, a terrible story…
Dr D called me this morning and said this poor girl was brought in by a good samaritan that found her wandering around a Walmart parking lot.
He has had her for a few days but was not able to afford the care that she would need. He was hoping that he could help her so that she didn’t have to be euthanized.
Dr. D asked if we wanted to try and help her, amazingly she has a microchip and it has an owners name attached to it, but the number is no longer in service and is from Louisiana.
The birthdate on this girl is March 6th 2005. Who knows what has happened over the years, who knows how she got here, who knows if the person that owned her is even alive or dead, a Google search shows no such person..Hurricane Katrina was in August of 2005, we wonder if she came here as a pup in a rescue effort way back when…
What we do know is that she looks like this…she has looked like this for a very, very long time…We don’t know what kind of dog she is, Dr. D thinks maybe a Border Collie mix.
What we also know is that she is very sweet, she has growths all over her body, she has no hair all over her body, her toenails are curled underneath, she has open sores on her legs, she is infected literally from head to toe.
She’s 11 years old and her life has sucked…..until now….
They aren’t always cute and cuddly, they aren’t always young and adorable.
This one is old and stinky, and crusty, and needs a lot of help that we are certainly going to give her…
She deserves a shot a good life just like any other dog that is suffering and homeless, and today the good life has just begun.
