Foster mom, Nicole facilitated this sweet boy’s adoption today:
Raisin Bran left on his forever journey today. From the scared boy who wouldn’t come out of his crate to the confident frenchie who left today, my family was honored to walk his freedom journey with him. Raisin Bran forced us to slow down and appreciate life for the simple things…all he wanted was love and a soft bed. My 100lb baby Hamilton with miss him with all his heart and us humans are better for having had him here. Fostering is an honor and a privilege…we welcome these babies into our homes and our lives to nurture them and watch them come alive and heal…Raisin Bran was the epitome of this journey.
He will be called Clyde in his forever life by his new humans, Shala and Matthew Clucas, and he will live in Rockwall, Texas.
Happy life everyone!
He’s a 4 year old boy who was literally the last dog on the table in the entire September auction. We had a last minute struggle where the auctioneer was frustrated that he wasn’t getting the bid he wanted but Jessica and I fought back and eventually were the winners and he is now safe. We are sending him to Chicago with foster mom Nicole for some TLC and vetting.
Formerly known as #351
Say hello to Raisin Bran!
UPDATE: from foster mom, Cate, in Chicago:
“Raisin Bran is now fully vetted, neutered and ready to go. Since he is too big to fly, his forever family will need to come pick his big self up and drive him to his Happily Ever After. Are you looking for a kid friendly/dog friendly addition to your family? Check, check. Have a dog savvy cat? No problem there. Want a sidekick with a ‘hey, yeah, a trip to the coffee shop sounds great’? Done. RB’s personality is really coming out after being sprung from the mill in early September. His ideal home will have a fenced in yard because he’s quite the explorer in his foster home. They will also have other dogs for him to interact with – he has claimed the largest, fuzziest ‘baby’ at his foster house as his best buddy. Numerous strategically placed dog beds are a plus because (in Mom speak) when he feels the need to self-regulate, RB finds himself a spot and settles down for a nap. If you have a pool, it must be first and foremost in ALL family members’ brains that ‘just because someone likes to swim, doesn’t mean they have a talent for it’. He is good on a leash, has learned to do stairs and is ready to meet the people who wish ‘they found him sooner so they could love him longer.”
From Raisin, himself: “I am such a good boy…I potty outside, I love everyone, I love all the dogs, I love all the kids, I’m getting better on a leash all the time, I’m a great eater, I sleep all snuggled up with anyone who will let me and I’m SO DANG CUTE!!”
To quote his foster mom: he’s perfect.
