Today was Ramsay’s Gotcha Day and I could not have custom ordered a better home for him than the Bergey family from NJ.
He will have a comparably sized Frenchie brother named Tank and his sister is DRR alumni Bonsai (aka Shasta) whose intake picture tugged at so many hearts. As our foster, we often wondered how all that personality fit into such a petite little body and she is the perfect dog to continueRamsay’s journey to becoming a confident, happy weirdo.
He walked right up to his dad, leaned against his leg and pretty much demanded head smooshes. He was not shy with his mom and had no problem hitting her with his foot to tell her ‘more please’. He has a fantastic backyard to continue his stealthy bunny hunting – as stealthy as a 35#, cream Snuffleufugus can be. His dad promises to take him on all kinds of ‘sidewalk walks’ and once settled, Ramsay will start going to class with his mom who teaches at the local university.
Our house is going to be much quieter, our floor a heck of a lot cleaner and I never really thought one’s heart could feel like it is emptying and filling up at the same time. Happy, happy life, Big Guy 
About Ramsay:
We had one of our amazing volunteers secure this sweet boy at an auction along with some other dogs from a hellish life in a mill. He’s a great big boy at 33 lbs, and staying with a foster mom in Chicago. It’s clear this guy will NOT be flying to a new home since he’s bigger than the airlines allow.
He’s been seen by the vet and treatment for anything he needs is underway. Welcome the handsome Ramsay to DRR.
