Rosarita has met her moms many times when they would visit her at her foster mom Linda’s house. Now, Rosarita finally was able to go home with them. Pat and Janna are adopting from us for the third time, and Rosarita will go to live with Lady Guinevere and Sandra Bullock in Edgecliff Village, TX.
She’s already got a full wardrobe of clothes and more waiting for her. She’s very sassy, and cold is not for her, so she needs to be dressed properly. Can you say spoiled?
Her new name is Molly after the unsinkable Molly Brown.
You’ve come a long way, little girl, from wandering the streets covered in infection in South Texas. Never look back, only good days ahead.
This tiny girl was wandering as a stray down in Progreso, Texas near the border of Mexico, apparently she’s just a pup but as you can see by looking at her life has not been kind.
Her weight is right around 7 or 8 pounds and they are guessing she’s some kind of Chihuahua mix. Terry and Cal who run a small rescue by themselves down in the valley, asked us if we could take her because they have a heavy burden right now. We said of course we will take this little girl in and change her life forever. She will be transported up to us with the help of Amy Costen who has transported several dogs for us now including Reprieve, Watson, Pretty and Holmes. She should arrive in town tomorrow or Sunday and Dr D will be waiting for her to get her some help.
We would like to welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue, Rosarita.
We have had Aileen running all around town today with Rosaria. First she picked her up at the ER this morning and took her to Dr. D. I got a call from her this afternoon and she’s concerned about her eye having an old wound that could be endangering her it and wants her at the Eye Institute at 3:15. Aileen again answers the call and jumps in her car and rushes her over.
They took a good look at her and said it will be okay with the right medicine and her eye should heal nicely.
The report from Dr. D is Rosarita appears to be around 10 months old, has all her adult teeth and a tiny bit of tartar. She said her eyelashes are cream colored but her pigment on her skin is blotchy like a Mexican hairless. She weighs five pounds but she’s thin. She has bacteria, yeast and demodex on her skin but Dr D said she doesn’t want to use ketoconozole on her, it would have to be compounded and its tough on the system. Thankfully she is heart worm negative and we will wait on her vaccines until she’s healthier and stronger.
She wants them to try and get rid of the yeast with shampoo instead. She’s eating like a little pig and is anemic but she thinks she’ll be okay with love, medicine, food and for goodness sake not living on the streets down near Mexico.
Last I heard there were a gaggle of women in our rescue, I won’t name names, who are shopping for little clothes for this little nugget, good grief she’s going to be spoiled stinkin rotten…
