This is the kind of face we look forward to bringing joy back and never have to see her look like this again.
She was born on 10/9/18, so she just had her second and last birthday in a mill.

We will name her Sonya McCan Elliott. I don’t even know if I can put into words how in awe of her I am. We are a large high school of over 2000 students and Sonya started out the year as our ONLY nurse… in the midst of a pandemic. She’s handled the stress with grace and calm. She works tirelessly for staff and students in one of the worst hotspots in the country right now for covid. (Lubbock, TX). And she does it all with a smile and a wicked sense of humor. She’s managed to keep track of and care for not only all our covid/quarantine students, but in person students, staff, and faculty. She kept me sane when I got covid a second time and she was always only a call or text away. There is no better nurse, friend, or human.
Oh, and she’s a rescue dog mama!
