Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Speckles.
UPDATE 11/10/2021
Speckles is getting hair! We’re still doing bath soaks 2 times a week. Her hair is coming in so soft. She’s eating about 2 1/2 cups of food a day. She’s actually grown taller and I’ve had to go to a bigger collar. She absolutely loves to play with everyone and anyone. Strangers still make her nervous along with certain sounds but she’s come a long way. The puppy in her has come out and we’ve lost two of our big donut beds, multiple toys and she thought she should try reading my books..(didn’t go over well). She’s also started digging in the yard while I’m cleaning stalls. I’m going to start taking her for some long walks to hopefully limit some of the digging…. She tries very hard to be a really good girl and you can’t help but love her. Someone is going to be very lucky to get her.
UPDATE 10/25/2021
Looks very much like Speckles is feeling much much better. Laura met her over at Millie’s and she has warmed up to Millie, but she is very afraid of new people and will require an adopter who is very patient and understanding of this and what she’s been through.
UPDATE 10/27/2021
Speckles went for her first walk today.. for a girl that hid and flattened at the sight of the leash, she’s doing really well!
UPDATE 10/13/2021
Speckles improves every day …I’m working on the leash with her. In the beginning she would shut down at the sight of it.. now she lets me put it on and will walk around the deck a little with it on. She’s starting to play with her toys and destroy pee pads so I think her inner puppy is starting to come out. We’re doing her bath soaks 2-3 times a week and you can see her white coat starting to come in. She loves laying in the sun but gets nervous when other people are around. This girl loves kisses and is very sweet!
UPDATE 10/6/2021
Speckles is doing very well at Millie’s. She says she’s a very sweet girl who is feeling much better. She’s got a long way to go to heal from her neglect but she’s in the right place. I can’t help but think that her ears and the donkey’s ears at Millie’s place seem a little similar
