On April 27th, DRR was able to rescue 10 frenchies from a horrible Iowa breeder that had been suspended for 21 days. Velvet was one of those lucky dogs and has been waiting a long time for a home of her own. She had an application from a good family, but they unexpectedly lost one of their dogs during the adoption process and just needed to grieve. So, in steps Chloe Prater to rescue her for the final time. Her grandmother, Maggie Heermans, adopted Artichoke (now Daisy Mae) from DRR and her parents have two rescued Bostons. Chloe is a college student living at home, so Velvet will have two new dogs to play with and parents to watch over Velvet while Chloe is at work.

Velvet’s new name will be Stella Rose and Maggie told her all about Happy Tails so we know we’ll see Stella Rose updates very soon.

About Velvet:

Velvet is very inquisitive, confident. Will need an owner who can show her the ropes on how to best behave with other dogs long term or could thrive as an only dog. (I would not place her with another dominant female). She does very well in the group 99% of the time. She has an adorable face, very muscular little body and has a calm yet playful, sweet personality once she is comfortable. Fully vetted and RTG.
