Latest Update:
We had one last rescue from the “game group” that went through months and months of recovery before she could finally go home.
Yahtzee was rescued all the way back in October of 2016. She came from an auction with her breasts full of milk, but even through the milk you could feel all of the masses in her breasts. She was 8 years old when she was auctioned off, obviously her litter had just recently been weaned and sold. Her teeth were in terrible shape and so was she.
She went through multiple surgeries to take care of her needs and the rescue spent around $4,000 to try and help her. She had to have all of her breasts removed in two different surgeries in addition to her spay and her dental.
Foster mom Elizabeth and her family have cared for her during this whole process, and finally today she was ready to go off to her new home. The Brewster family from Farmers Branch picked up their girl to join their family filled with Cocker Spaniels. Her new name will be Josie and as you can see from the photos she fits in like she’s lived there forever.
We are so happy for this sweet girl to finally be free from the torments of living in a mill and she can now relish in living her life as a spoiled princess.
Happy life, Josie. ❤️
Yahtzee has spent 9 years living in a mill as the mother of what has to be upwards of 50 adorable chocolate Cocker Spaniel puppies to sell to the public. She is now clean, groomed, living in her foster home with Elizabeth and her children. This new life is what she has been robbed of for 9 years, Elizabeth tells us that she is beyond sweet, and simply can’t get enough love from anyone in the house and loves to snuggle. She will have a lengthy list of vetting to get her health back but in the meantime, she thinks life is good, very good…
An update on how Yahtzee is doing in her foster home from Elizabeth:
Elizabeth on Yahtzee: Yahtzee is what they call a velcro dog. When I can’t find her, I literally stop in my tracks and she is under my feet. She LOVES “Holdy” time and doesn’t care who gives it to her. She is a very quiet girl that needs to be around her people or a laid back companion. She loves my children and has never shown any aggressive behavior to any human. She is great with cats and other dogs. She is slowly becoming potty trained and has only had an accident when human error was involved. She sleeps in her crate at night and has never had a problem, but would love to have a human bed she could call her own. She is a little bit of a picky eater, but is slowly finishing her meals in a timely manner. She is a very patient little dog while on the grooming table, which for cockers is rare. Yahtzee would do great in any home where she could love out her days being a giant couch potato.
