Current Location: Oklahoma
Adoption Date: January 5, 2019
Adopted by: Trish
Foster mom Trish has fostered dozens and dozens of dogs for us as well as several other rescues. She only foster failed on one dog…ever, and his name was Barnabus and he was a Dog Ranch Rescue Dog. Barnabus walked into a CVS in Oklahoma in the snow looking for help, we came to his rescue and Trish fostered him but she couldn’t let him go. (I know that feeling)
A few days before Christmas, Trish had an elderly dog pass away and shortly after that she awoke to her cat passing away next to her.
A few days ago Trish was overcome with more grief when her beloved Barnabus who had no symptoms of illness walked in the room and gasped and fell over dead.
Needless to say she was overcome with grief and we all felt horrible for her. She asked us if it was possible for her to adopt Yams. To know Yams is to love Yams and she’s so filled with joy and love that we knew she would be good medicine and we of course said yes.
Today Trish came to the Ranch to pick up Orchard, Fall and Harvest to foster them for us but in addition she took home sweet Yams as her new girl. She brought along the ashes of Barnabus and asked if he could please be buried in the memorial garden at The Village Sanctuary that we will build this spring, we of course said yes.
So with that we will wish Trish and Yams much happiness and hope that Yams can help heal her very broken heart.
Rest In Peace Barnabas, your mama loved you so very much.
This little girl from a November puppy mill auction is in terrible shape. She was born on 4-15/15, which means she’s only 3 years old and just look at her, her skin is infected and at only 3 years old her little body lacks muscle mass and her back legs are very bowed from living in a crate. She is on antibiotics and medicated baths for her skin. She looks sad with her soulful eyes and soaks in love and attention. Such a lovebug she will be content on the lap of her human all day.
Welcome to safety, your life will never be the same…
Say hello to Yams.
