As we slowly approach our fall auction that will be held in October this year we had a little bit of a brainstorming session to see how we could improv eon it, create more interest, provide lots of new interesting things in our auction, and we have decided on this plan that I am going to describe to you.
Before I do its very important for me to say we have lots and lots of village members who have already sent us lovely, items that have been donated, some hand made and some not, many have already arrived, many are in the process of being made and have not yet arrived. We love them all, we are so grateful for all the support from everyone.
This year in addition to all of those items, we are going to try something new as an addition.
Here is our idea, there are many, many people who would like to donate to the online auction but they don’t know how to knit, paint, crochet, draw or simply do not have the time to do any of that. Many would like to purchase something for the online auction but don’t know what to buy, many simply don’t have the time to shop for something, to contact us, to fill out the paperwork and to then ship it to us.
So here is what we are going to do, we have entered into the rescue store a gift that you can buy with various amounts to choose from 25.00, 50.00, 75.00, 100.00, 250.00, 500.00 and 1,000
Here’s what will happen when you purchase a gift in whatever dollar amount works for you.
You make the purchase, you will immediately get a tax receipt emailed to you with your purchase.
From there we will take your donation of lets say 50.00 and we have a small team of shoppers who will shop for you for a gift worth 50.00. The “shoppers” include myself, and my family, girls that work for us, and volunteers who will be basically “your personal shopper”.
The shopper will hunt and find something unique to purchase for your 50.00 donation and it will then be entered into the auction program. Your name will be listed in the auction listing as the donor of this item, and the shopper will be listed as well, so you will know what you donated, and you will know who your shopper was.
Our shoppers will be men, and women, young and older so we think we should get a really interesting mix of items in this auction. You don’t have to lift a finger, you just need to purchase a gift in the store for whichever amount you want to donate and all of the work after that we will take care of. We are very excited to see how this turns out and what kind of exciting things will be in our auction.
We have set the date for the auction to begin this year on October 2nd and will end on October 8th.
We have new donations arriving at the ranch every day from village members and we want you to know we are happy to have your donation as well. We do ask that you email Laura first and let her know you have something to donate and she will send you the necessary paperwork, the deadline to send an item will be Labor Day to give us time to process your donation and get it all loaded in the auction software.
We discuss all details in tomorrow podcast hoping to answer all question you might have, we are very excited for this years auction, the funds that are raised in this auction are an integral path to the dogs we rescue and the funds it takes to rescue them throughout the year.
