Latest Update:

Handsome man Ace has officially left the building and straight into the hearts of his new family Andy & Leah Hagman from Arlington, TX. With the cutest floppy ears you’d ever see, Ace will spend his days chasing sunshine in his very own spacious backyard along the side of his new fur sibling, Owen the Boston Terrier! Andy & Leah made the drive to meet him in person. From the moment they saw those ears in action and experienced his irresistible personality, it was game over. One thing for sure, Ace knew he was home. As soon as Andy opened the car door and gave him a nod, he jumped in with a perfect leap and a wagging nub that said “I’m ready”. They are still deciding on the perfect name while they get to know his goofiness a little more. We’re so excited for this fresh start in life of endless love as this sweet boy deserves. Happy life Ace, your forever adventures starts now!

About Ace:
  1. We were asked to help a couple of Dobermans, owner surrenders. Their story is the people got the black Doberman as a pup at 4 months old. A few months later they got his sister the red Doberman when she was 7 months old. Living with family, both of them working 11 hour days and both of the dogs jumping out of a yard with a 4 foot fence, they said they couldn’t keep them any longer. Ricky went and picked both of them up this afternoon.
Both of them just turned year old so they are babies. They are on their way to the sanctuary where vetting will begin and hopefully grant homes found for them. No we will not try and keep them together, they are happy dogs that we are told get along with other dogs and humans, but no cats.
Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Ace and Athena.

PS

Ace has what you would call a failed ear crop. The failure belongs to the owner at the time. When you opt to crop ears it’s going to require a ton of care, attention and maintenance with taping the posts in their ears to support the cartilage. When you don’t do that you have this, cropped ears that fall down and fold in many ways. This isn’t fixable and he will always have this gorgeous face and flopping ears.
He doesn’t care, and we don’t either.
