Latest Update:

When we welcome rescues like Ace and Athena, we’re fortunate to have the ability to send one of them to the ranch to evaluate how they interact with other dogs. Athena had her turn, and she passed with flying colors—turns out she’s a classic, goofy Doberman who gets along wonderfully with her canine companions.
Enter Diedre Shepard and Kyle Page, who were on the lookout for a larger dog to accompany them on walks and help keep their home safe. They already have three beloved Frenchies—Sazerac, Saint, and Krewe—who aren’t exactly built for long strolls! So, they brought the whole pack to the Sanctuary for a meet-and-greet, facilitated by Emma. It went great!
Although they were headed out of town, Diedre and Kyle returned later in the week to bring Athena home. In preparation, they connected with Aaron Stewart, a trainer we recommended, just to have support ready in case they needed help with the transition.
Well, the big day finally arrived. Athena hopped into the SUV and was off to start her next chapter. Diedre and Kyle are still deciding on her new name, but given the New Orleans-inspired names of their Frenchies, we’re sure it’ll be something fitting!
Wishing you a joyful new life, Athena—you’ve found a loving home and a wonderful family!
UPDATE: SHE WILL BE READY AFTER MAY 27TH TO GO TO HER NEW FAMILY.
We were asked to help a couple of Dobermans, owner surrenders. Their story is the people got the black Doberman as a pup at 4 months old. A few months later they got his sister the red Doberman when she was 7 months old. Living with family, both of them working 11 hour days and both of the dogs jumping out of a yard with a 4 foot fence, they said they couldn’t keep them any longer. Ricky went and picked both of them up this afternoon.
Both of them just turned year old so they are babies. They are on their way to the sanctuary where vetting will begin and hopefully grant homes found for them. No we will not try and keep them together, they are happy dogs that we are told get along with other dogs and humans, but no cats.
Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Ace and Athena.
