Buckle up Bobby fans
Y’all aren’t going to believe this. I still don’t believe it. It sounds made up, like this whole thing was a stunt. That’s how magic this one is. Magic.
Bobby got adopted on the 12th day of Bobby.
That’s his adoption photo.
I like stats, so here’s some stats:
Bobby got approx 7,632 shares total on all of the Bobby posts.
Bobby got 21 email inquiries.
Bobby got 8 official applications.
Bobby got adopted.
This whole thing was quite a ride for me. I’ve never fostered a dog as long as I’ve fostered Bobby. He’s one of those dogs that is just so good, and it makes your heart ache that nobody seems to want him.
The Boss™️ had been gently encouraging me to write a big long Bobby post for the last month or so trying to generate some interest in him. I couldn’t think how to write all my thoughts and feelings in a wall of text like I needed to in one post, and the thought of it potentially getting lost in the churn of so many other dogs we have needing homes was confounding.
So when she went off to IT-LEE for 12 days and I was steering the content ship I had the idea for 12 days of Bobby. I wanted to yell from atop a mountain, over and over again to get people to see what I saw in him.
Just as it always does, with patience and persistence, the right home came along.
Kimberly and Matthew Hoke’s son was scrolling on our adoption site when he came across the picture of the one and only Bobby Jack with his sunglasses on. He instantly was obsessed with him and showed Kimberly & Matthew his awesomeness.
They had interest in him but didn’t know if it was too soon since they had their 16 year old dog named Jack pass away a such a short time ago. After seeing how handsome Bobby was, they thought he would be already adopted.
Not long after that, a friend randomly showed them yet another post of Bobby still here waiting for his forever home. In their hearts, they knew it was sign from their dog Jack that Bobby was meant to be theirs. The Hokes drove all the way from Boerne, Tx to make him officially part of the family!
In his new home he’ll have two fur siblings Dottie (DRR Carol one of Bernice’s puppies) and Hazel (DRR Inez) to play all day long with! I’ve been told they will be making a pit stop to stock up on all kinds of Bobby’s favorite toys which of course we all know… is Star War stuffies!!
They will be keeping his name Bobby Jack in honor of their first Jack. The Hokes promise lots of updates on Happy Tails with Bobby Jack’s adventures and how he is adjusting to his awesome, new life.
Until next time Bobby Jack Aka Fun Bobby™️ aka Handsome Bobby™️ have safe travels back and thank you for adopting this special boy!
I love you Bobby. I do miss you, and I knew I would, that’s why I wanted to be there to meet your new family. They’re perfect for you, and I’m so happy you’re off to the best forever home I could have hoped you’d get.
To the villagers – thank you for sharing Bobby. This magical happy ending for Bobby would simply not have happened without y’all mashing that share button for him.
We can’t do this rescue thing without you.

About Bobby Jack:

We were asked if we could help with this boy before Thanksgiving. He was picked up as a stray in Arkansas, walking near a wooded area and a highway. He was picked up and taken to a home, scanned for a chip, notified local shelters and posted on all lost and found sites to no avail. He was very thin, his teeth are worn down and he is limping in a front shoulder. He did very well in this persons home, very mild boy and got along with their dogs. Mr. Ricky Barnes drove to Arkansas early this morning to bring him back to Texas. Bobby Jack gets along with all dogs large and small, he is a very sweet boy. Bobby Jack is heart worm positive and will need to be treated for that before adoption.
