Latest Update:
We had a special adoption for Jojo and Bronc who were adopted together by Nancy & Scott Bunday who are both Dog Ranch Rescue volunteers. They live in Plano, TX and they have a female choc Lab named Kona and three cats. They fell in love with them both upon meeting and caring for them at the sanctuary while volunteering.
We wish them all a very happy life together
After we knew Raquel would be coming up to bring us Stewart we saw this poor dog in the shelter in the valley. As you can see he’s in horrible shape so we asked Raquel if she could bring both of them at the same time. We tagged this guy and she picked him up for us, interesting that he has this leather collar with stars on it that looks like somebody cared about him, it certainly didn’t go unnoticed, but we have no idea what the story is behind that.
We will be naming him Bronc McCoy He was a Dallas police officer who died of COVID last week, A true hero.
We send our condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.
Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Bronc.
UPDATE 12/26/2020
Slowly but surely you can begin to see Bronc’s previous life of suffering in the valley on the streets begin to go away, first his emaciation leaves, then his skin infection, his ear infection, his upper respiratory infection, then his wounds and sores. He is still sick with heartworms but we cannot begin to address those until he is much healthier. He is a very sweet boy and the volunteers love him, they say if he could he would just sit in your lap all day. We hope down the road we find him a family who will do just that.
UPDATE 12/10/2020
Bronc should be a poster child for dogs in the valley, look at this dog, look how he has suffered for a very, very long time. The shelter listed him at 9 years old, is he that old? Probably not. Dogs that live like this, with no food, no care, covered in skin infection, emaciated, his heart filled with heart worms, no protection from the elements, just trying to survive on the street look like much older dogs than they are. It ages a dog, it takes a toll on a dog. He is then picked up off the street and taken to an extremely crowded shelter filled with sick dogs, and he has absolutely no immune system left and of course in a split second he is sick with an upper respiratory infection that he now needs to try and recover from.
He has a long road ahead of him, but he is one of the lucky ones, some day in the not too distant future we will look back at these pictures and compare them to him when he is well, healthy, with a shiny coat and life in his eyes and we will be very happy for him. Sadly there are many more from where he has come from.
UPDATE 12/7/2020
This Doberman is in very rough shape and is off to the vet first thing this morning.
Travis had these notes to share:
Absolutely crusted skin and coat. Washed in med shampoo but will have itchy and flakey skin for a while. Very low energy. Has sores and wounds all over from various things at various times. Large sore on his rear left. Recent wound in the ear (5 or so day’s old) Peed for about a year when he arrived. Very interested in food but was sweet about it. After feeding he really perked up and I feel good about his health for the night. Not sure his age, he’s pretty worn. Hacking cough, has nasal discharge for days but its clear and not green. Skinny and wobbles at the knees.
We will get you the help you need Bronc.
