It’s always surprising when a pup like Bryn doesn’t get more applications—but as it turns out, she only needed the right one. Former adopters John and Lisa Howell, who gave Dipsy (now Pearl) her forever home, made the trip all the way from North Carolina to meet their newest family member—and it was love at first sight!
Bryn, now sweetly renamed Charlotte, actually looks a lot like Pearl. John and Lisa even wonder if the two might somehow be related. One detail that always caught people’s attention in Bryn’s photos was her ear—it looked like the tip had been clipped! But no worries, her ear is perfectly intact. It became a running joke among us because in person her ear was fine, but it gave the same optical illusionin pictures – even in her adoption photo. Now that she’s with her new pawrents recent photos show both ears in all their glory—it’s as if she was just waiting to be in her forever home to let them shine.
Charlotte won’t just be joining John and Lisa—she’ll be part of a lively and loving pack that includes Ava and Pearl the dogs, Oliver and Nigel the cats, and Max the parrot. With a new name, a new home, and a family full of love and furry (and feathered!) friends, Charlotte is truly living her best life.
7/25/25 pupdate: Preliminary behavior notes: Maren & Bryn have both been introduced to the other dogs at The Sanctuary. They are both doing quite well. Maren can be a little sassy but she has been easy to correct.
Found as strays in a popular dump spot. Founder did everything she could to find an owner, one has a microchip not registered the other does not. One is in heat, one is not. Nobody stepped up for them and the finder needed help for them to be in a safe place, she had lots of people reaching out to her saying they would take them asking if they are intact, she knew that was not going to work. Ricky drove off to pick them up yesterday, they went off to see the vet today and will be spayed asap.
The brindle is Maren and the pied is Bryn. Estimated age for Maren is 3-5 years and Bryn is around a year.
