Butter

Martha & Matt Loney from Akeny, Iowa made the long drive to add their new addition to the family, Butter.

Butter arrived to our rescue with a skin disease called, Demodicosis. This caused terrible skin lesion & hair loss. Almost visually comparable to what a burn mark would look like. His paws were crusted over and raw making it painful to even stand up comfortably, much less be able walk normal. After a couple weeks in isolation with medicated baths & prescriptions, he started to improve. His personality began to come out with his hair growing back beautifully. All the dead skin & scabs on his paws were gone and now “smooth like butter!” He was finally able to meet the others while playing without discomfort.

Matt & Martha are previous adopters of DRR Nacho & DRR Clove. With their dear Nacho recently passing, a week before turning 10yrs, Clove needed another friend.

The Loney’s had been following Butter’s story & decided he was a perfect fit for the family. They weren’t wrong.. Clove & him connected fast when meeting already becoming inseparable.

Mom & Dad agreed to rename him, Bo. Strategically picked considering their last name, Loney. Making his new full name “Bo-Loney!” We absolutely love it. Thank you Martha & Matt for rescuing, now 3 dogs, from our Rescue! We look forward to seeing Bo on Happy Tials!
