Sex: Female
Breed: Yorkshire Terrier
Weight: 5 pounds
Current Location: Lewisville, TX
Adoption Date: December 9, 2020
Adopted by: Carol Porter and Terry Mickla
Latest Update:

Cheri has been adopted by Carol Porter and Terry Mickla from Lewisville, TX. Carol and Terry are multiple time Dog Ranch Rescue adopters and were excited to welcome Cheri into their home. Terry works from home, so she will be around to help her get adjusted. Cheri’s new name will be Annie-May Pennyworth. One of the other dogs Carol and Terry adopted was Robin (Little Rock) and if you have been followers for awhile you might remember that Robin (Little Rock) was Wes’s very first rescue pup and he wanted to keep her but didn’t. He was very close to her. He’s Batman and that’s his Robin. Robin is the boss in the household and she instantly became friends with Annie (Cheri). She will definitely be showing Annie the ropes. We heard that Annie has a new Fiesta pottery bowl to eat from as do all the other dogs and her Christmas stocking is in work to be hung on the mantel with the other stockings. Instead of a regular adoption picture, Carol and Terry wanted to share pictures of Annie happy in her forever home. Annie will be spoiled and very much loved as one of the pack and Carol & Terry promise to keep us all updated on Happy Tails!

About Cheri:
Their faces always say it all, you don’t have to look much further than the look in their eyes to know what their life has been. We will change that thanks to all of you.
Formerly # 93 she has a little tongue that sticks out and she just sat in her cage trembling. Born on 8/24/14 she has spent 6 long years as a mama dog for Yorkie pups to the public. This is the ace of the mama dog that is never seen nor acknowledged.
She will be named Cheri Yarbrough Eldridge – (pronounced Cher-ree) who is an RN in East Texas that was caring for Covid patients and got the virus. She is currently in rehab due to a massive stroke at age 40 secondary to covid. A sweet mom, sister, wife, nurse & friend.

Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Cheri

UPDATE 11/30/2020

Laura has not chosen a home for little Cheri who is now resting from her spay and staying with foster mom Sherry, She has given us a little update on this shy little girl:
She makes progress every day in learning to live in a home. She sleeps all night in the playpen by our bed without accidents. Housebreaking is still a work in progress. I take her out first thing in the morning and she takes care of all of her business. She still hasn’t figured out how to tell us she needs to go outside but if the door is left open she will always go out to potty. We take her out every few hours and have only had a few accidents in the house. She now likes to lay next to me on the couch while we watch TV and last night rolled over for a belly rub. We pick her up and put her down as she hasn’t mastered jumping and I don’t want her to even try right now. She and Stormy get along and are starting to try and play first thing in the morning.

UPDATE 11/13/2020
We sent little frightened Cheri off to a foster home with Sherry and their little Yorkie Stormy.
she will be much happier in a home and is already showing signs of being less afraid.
