What started on the Sanctuary calendar as a simple meet & greet—just to see whether Crikey might be a good fit—quickly turned into something much more. The staff couldn’t help but laugh; after all, what’s not to love about sweet Crikey?

Michelle Cook came out to meet him and let us know that the family adored him but would need to schedule a time to finalize the adoption. But then came the best twist of all: they decided they couldn’t leave him behind for even one more day. The adoption happened right then and there.

Crikey, now Norman, will join Oscar, their 12‑year‑old long‑haired dachshund, and June, their lively 2‑year‑old standard poodle. With the Cook family in Allen, TX, he’s stepping into a life filled with companionship, comfort, and so much love. We can’t wait to see him pop up on Happy Tails.

A wonderful new name and an even more wonderful new life—cheers to you, Norman!
