Dana

The name on Dana’s application looked familiar—and it should. Melanie Foster and Troy Roberts have been part of our rescue family for years. When no one applied for the older DDB pair Jim Halpert and Angela Martin, they stepped forward without hesitation and adopted both. And when Pronto—now Bucky—sat without a single application despite being the very best boy, Melanie and Troy drove all the way from Marana, AZ, to bring him home too.

Recently, Jim and Angela both passed away, leaving a quiet space in their home and hearts. So when their application for Dana arrived, we were genuinely thrilled to offer them this young girl who had many interested adopters. It felt like the right moment for them to welcome a younger DDB who could help heal their hearts.

Just like Bucky, Dana was whisked away to Arizona, where she’ll spend her life surrounded by love, stability, and a family with an enormous heart for rescues. Dana’s new name will be Pumpkin and she couldn’t have landed in a more devoted home.
