Unfortunately we could not save this old girl. A severe case of Cushings disease. Her abdomen very distended and her skin covered in Calcinosis cutis which is a very hard calcification all over her body. This is not a quality life, and therefore we humanely said goodbye.

May the owner who dropped her off a week before Christmas to the shelter telling them to euthanize her and then walk away, rot in hell.

They deserve it.

The betrayal for me is sometimes the hardest part. This girl was taken to the shelter by the owner with the request to kill her last week.

Clearly she’s got medical issues, can they be solved? I just don’t know, but I do know that I would never, ever, ever do this to my dog.

If she’s terminal then so be it, but be a human being and hug your dog while you say good bye. Instead they did this a few days before Christmas. If her face doesn’t tell you it all, then you’re just not looking.

We tagged her last week but had to wait until today to pick her up, and drive her to Oklahoma where Dr Roach can tell us her prognosis. She has sat in the shelter wondering where her owner had gone, and why this was happening to her. It’s just too much. Ricky came to meet her this morning and she cautiously wanted to trust him to help her.

She’s on her way to Dr Roach.
