Age: Adult
Sex: Male
Breed: French Bulldog
About Dom:

9/22/25 Pupdate:

Dom is a testament to the strength and courage of animals. He endured a dangling mass on his leg without complaint, and his calm demeanor has been a beacon of hope throughout his treatment. Dr. Roach and Renee’s prompt attention has set him on the path to recovery.

To describe his personality I would say he is a serene boy taking each day as it comes, soaking up love and enjoying the attention he got when I was dressing him in his surgery suit. What a delightful little man he is. Dom likes other dogs and cats, patient while children pet him, and enjoys short walks on a leash and longer walks in the stroller like the king that he is! Doesn’t fight taking a pill of doxy in cheese which is a relief.

I love him and you will too!!

For those of you that follow our podcast, last week we spoke about strays that struggle with the “law” and at one point an owner can claim their dog, or dogs.

This is one of those cases, let me give you all of the facts.

These two dogs were found as strays here locally in Anna on 8/15 the finder posted them on all of the things, Ring, Nextdoor, local lost and found Facebook pages. After two days of no owner contacting her she asked if we would take them.

Which we did on 8/18.

On the same day the owner finally commented on one of the posts and said they were looking for them.

On 8/20 we took them to the local shelter to begin a legal stray hold.

On 8/20 the owners emailed us saying they saw our post about them and they want their dogs, we told them they were at the shelter where they could retrieve them.

The shelter began a 5 day stray hold where we would be contacted once that was up, if the owners didn’t come for them then we would claim them.

On Monday 8/25 the shelter informed us the owners never came.

On Tuesday 8/26 we retrieved both of them.

The dogs are now legally ours and if the owner sees this, they will not be returned.

The male is intact, he has an oozing mass on the back of his front leg and is Heartworm positive. They are both now sick from being in the shelter.

Emma drove both of them up to Oklahoma on Friday to be fostered by Trish and Dr. Roach now has them in isolation.

This story is just one of many that we have been dealing with on strays, owners and the legalities of the dogs. It’s frustrating and maddening and we try and focus on the dogs best interest. This story has been defined, cataloged, and processed completely.

Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue, Dom and Letty, when your vetting is all finished we will seek new homes for you both.
