Latest Update:

We are always weary taking mixed breed dogs, knowing that they will be in our care much longer than usual. Ember was one of those cases: mixed breed, larger, and black, a combo that shouldn’t be unfortunate, or “undesirable”, but so often is. Luckily, Ember was only in our care for 40 days, which, compared to other mixed breed dogs, is like a blink of the eye. She won the lottery with Dana Kim, her new mama. Dana has always favored black dogs, and loves to have two dogs in the home. Since the passing of her girl dog, Reesa, Roger has been the only dog. While she loves having Roger time, that want for a second dog came creeping in as time passed. Come Ember, and her smiling face on her Facebook feed. Her personality caught Dana’s eye and the rest is history. On introduction, Ember, usually skittish upon meeting new people, approached Dana and trusted her within seconds. Ember will be living with Roger, Dana’s mother, Judy, and her two sweet cats, Jake and Maxee. She’ll never be alone, and she will always have a home to belong to. She’s going to keep her name, it fits her, and matches her new fiery red collar. Look out for goofy, sweet girl Ember on happy tails
