Ember

Adopted!
New Name:
Age: Young
Sex: Female
Breed: Mixed Breed
Weight:
Current Location:
Adoption Date:
Adopted by: Dana Kim
Latest Update:

We are always weary taking mixed breed dogs, knowing that they will be in our care much longer than usual. Ember was one of those cases: mixed breed, larger, and black, a combo that shouldn’t be unfortunate, or “undesirable”, but so often is. Luckily, Ember was only in our care for 40 days, which, compared to other mixed breed dogs, is like a blink of the eye. She won the lottery with Dana Kim, her new mama. Dana has always favored black dogs, and loves to have two dogs in the home. Since the passing of her girl dog, Reesa, Roger has been the only dog. While she loves having Roger time, that want for a second dog came creeping in as time passed. Come Ember, and her smiling face on her Facebook feed. Her personality caught Dana’s eye and the rest is history. On introduction, Ember, usually skittish upon meeting new people, approached Dana and trusted her within seconds. Ember will be living with Roger, Dana’s mother, Judy, and her two sweet cats, Jake and Maxee. She’ll never be alone, and she will always have a home to belong to. She’s going to keep her name, it fits her, and matches her new fiery red collar. Look out for goofy, sweet girl Ember on happy tails

About Ember:
We had every intention of these two girls being the last rescues of 2025, but then the call came in for Percival and Doughboy late last night. Yesterday morning these two seamlessly joined the Ranch’s NYE crowd, and every staff member has fallen in love with them.
First I will introduce you to Berkley, she is estimated to be right around 1 year old. She had a fractured jaw as a young puppy that has now healed, but you may notice that her smile is a little wonky. No worries there as it causes her no issues other than added cuteness. And yes, her tongue is always out 🤣. She is a Pyrenees mix who’s on the smaller side. She is social with everyone and is so very happy to be here.
Next up is her buddy Ember. Also a young girl at around 1.5 years old, she unfortunately was heartworm positive, but has already completed treatment for that and is really blossoming now alongside Berkley at the ranch. She seems to be a Heeler mix, and is also extremely sweet although she’s a touch shy when she very first meets a new person. No problem Ember, you have all the time you need to feel comfortable here.
By no means do these girls have to be adopted together, but we are glad they have each other to get their bearings in a new environment- and we are happy to have them here! Both girls are completely vetted and can be adopted as soon as the perfect families come along.
Welcome to Dog Ranch Rescue Berkley and Ember.
