Latest Update:

Franklin spent quite a bit of time with us, both up in Oklahoma with foster mom Trish and then down at the Ranch so we could understand his personality. Well, he wasn’t great with other dogs, but if you knew what behavior you were looking at, then you could nip unwanted behaviors in the bud. With this, we decided that it would probably be best for him to have an only dog home.

So, enter the Stovall family with their 3 kids, a stay at home mom, Paige, and police officer dad, Dylan. They’ve only had big dogs before and their last dog had passed on, so the Stovall’s looked at DRR and fell in love with Franklin. They researched the frenchie breed, which is something we encourage with new frenchie owners, and knew Franklin was for them. Franklin was taken next door to the ranch to meet the chickens because he would be living on 1.4 acres in Royse City, TX with free range chickens. Luckily, he passed the test!

When we are finding the perfect home for our rescues, we think about how those new dogs will act with younger kids in the home, but Franklin had lived with 6 kids so we knew that would be a good fit too! So, Franklin went off to his new home. When we followed up, they said after his first night sleeping in Paige’s arm, he was so excited in the morning that he helped get the kiddos up for school by jumping on their beds and licking them in their faces until they got up! We couldn’t be more pleased with this adoption!

Happy life Franklin! We hope to see you soon on the Happy Tails page!

About Franklin:
This is Frank, he has been staying with foster mom Trish and I am just now getting a chance to bring him to your attention. This is his story, a woman supposedly being evicted tried to surrender her dog to the OKC shelter. They had reached their quota which is very common these days and they turned her away. She walked away shouting over her shoulder that she would let him go in the parking lot. A woman in line was there to adopt a dog for her son followed her out and got him.

She kept him a month or two but with 6 kids it was too much and she asked Trish if she could help with him. He gets along great with her pack and her fosters, Mack, Tootsie and Bubba before their adoption.

He weighs about 28 lbs, 3 years old.
