Garlic Parmesan, now known as Padme, has found her forever home with Anne & Tom Waters in Corpus Christi, TX!

Anne and Tom first reached out in mid-February, eager to adopt, and had several dogs in mind. After narrowing it down, they fell in love with Garlic Parmesan. However, they soon learned that the journey would take a little longer. Garlic Parmesan, who came to us from a shelter, tested positive for heartworms. To treat the heartworms, we start with a month of Doxycycline, followed by a couple of nights with Dr. Reno for treatment. It’s a lengthy and costly process that can be hard on the dog, which is why heartworm prevention is so crucial.

Even after we marked her as “pending,” we were able to send more pictures of this sweet pup, and they eagerly responded that they were ready to bring her home at any moment.

The wait has finally come to an end, and Padme is headed to her new family, which includes Anne & Tom, Bear the Yorkie, and Yoda the Frug. We are sure she will be loved and spoiled in her new home, and we can’t wait to see her featured on the Happy Tails page soon!

About Garlic Parm:

This girl was local to us, brought into animal services in some distress. It was a suspected toxicity so she was taken and treated at an ER. She has bounced back and is doing great now. She will start in isolation here since she did spend a couple days in the shelter environment, and we will wait to say if she displays any other signs of illness. Of course she’s also Heartworm Positive, but we will get her all taken care of in time. Ricky brought her in this morning, and she looks to be a sweetie.
