Latest Update:
Bringing in the National Parks dogs, we knew placing them may be challenging, but we love a challenge and OUT IS OUT! It has taken awhile to get everyone healthy and ready for adoption and then the task comes of finding the perfect home for each precious one.
Glacier being deaf, we knew would be tricky to find that special home, a unicorn home that had lots of love and patience to work with her. Kelli Edmonds of Irving, Texas saw her picture and was drawn in by her eyes. She read her story and needed to meet her right away! She even started doing research on the internet to see what would be needed to raise and train a deaf dog. Kelli lost her heart dog, Dakota, who was a greater Swiss mountain dog and she has not been ready to open her heart to another baby until now.
While she was meeting Glacier, she also wanted to meet Teton. Another girl that drew her in with her eyes. Teton was an owner surrender that clearly had many litters and recently went through heart worm treatment.
We sent both girls off for a home visit and it took no time at all for Kelli to decide they were not leaving and the rest is history. They are like Ying and yang and she could not have one without the other. Kelli is going to bring in a trainer to work with her on training a young deaf dog to give her the tools she needs to succeed.
Glacier will now be known as Bella and Teton will now be Laney.
We are so happy to send these two off to their new home where they will be loved and cherished and bring life and love back to Kelli’s home.
She’s so damn pretty and photos don’t do her justice, she was on our original list as her eyes were absolutely captivating. She is listed as one year old, and she has tiny black specks all over her body. Multiple staff members were sad to see her leave but thrilled that we were taking her. She was quiet and sweet with us and was kenneled with another larger male dog.

UPDATE 3/18/2022
Let’s talk about Glacier, one of the shelter dogs that needs a home. She is completely deaf, she is young, she is active, she loves to run and wrestle, she is naughty and will steal things off of the counter, she never soils her den so she will have a step ahead with housebreaking. She has no applications.
UPDATE 3/7/2022
Glacier is deaf, completely deaf and needs a home where they can offer her the special training she will need to communicate with her. We will choose a home with no children, Glacier is very mouthy and nippy with the way she plays and kids would exacerbate that. She loves to play with other dogs but doesn’t pick up on their cues sometimes, her being deaf doesn’t help with that. I’m told that she likes to be held and cradled like a baby which is hilarious.
She’s only about a year old, she was a stray and her vetting is all finished and she needs a home of her own now.
UPDATE 1/23/2022
We figured out pretty early on that Glacier cannot hear a darn thing. She doesn’t wake up from her nap until we get close and get her attention.
