Gordy truly couldn’t have found a better home! When we call potential adopters, we often don’t know much beyond what’s written on their application. From there, we rely on our instincts and experience to guide us in placing our dogs.
When Howie and Lisa Broughton arrived for the meet and greet with their dog Kei Lei, we were a little concerned—it was 1:30 PM on a very hot day, and we always worry about dogs walking on hot pavement or dirt. But Howie gently carried Kei Lei into the Sanctuary to keep her paws safe from the heat, and that simple act told us so much.
Gordy and Kei Lei hit it off beautifully, but the real moment of clarity came when Lisa, with tears in her eyes, said thank you. That’s when we knew—we had made the right choice.
They’re currently trying out the name “Miley,” though that might still change. We’re looking forward to seeing them on the Happy Tails page soon, because we’re certain this will be a very happy tale indeed!

She’s a spunky little girl sho gets along with all dogs, cats, chickens etc…The owner cannot keep her in her yard, sounds like not a very secure yard and a little makeshift but she said she’s going to get runner by an 18 wheeler.
We will find a home that can manage that for sure.
